We’re getting ready to celebrate UK Savings Week

This month, we’re proud to be taking part in UK Savings Week (21–27 September), a national campaign celebrating the simple, powerful habit of saving.
What is UK Savings Week?
UK Savings Week is a national campaign, created and run by the Building Societies Association, encouraging people across the country to think about saving and to find a way that works for them. This year’s theme sums it up perfectly: “Save your way today, thank yourself tomorrow.”
Whether you’re planning a special holiday, celebrating a milestone birthday or starting a rainy day fund, the message is that putting a little aside today is a gift to your future self.
Why we’re supporting it
As the South West’s largest member-owned credit union, saving is at the very heart of what we do. We’ve always believed that saving should be for everyone and that setting something aside, however small, can make a real difference to people’s lives and peace of mind.
UK Savings Week is an ideal time to celebrate that belief and to shine a light on the many different reasons people save.
How we’re getting involved
All next week, from Monday 21 September, we’ll be sharing real savings stories from our own community — members, staff and volunteers — each telling us, in their own words, what saving has meant to them.
From saving up for a first musical instrument to planning holidays and making Christmas magical, every story is different, and every one is a reminder of what saving can make possible.
Keep an eye out from Monday — we can’t wait to share them with you.
